Our 4 best restaurants in Courchevel

Sweet or savoury? On the slopes or in the resort? Courchevel is full of gourmet addresses not to be missed. As the resort welcomes its last lucky visitors of the season under the snow, far from the show-off addresses sometimes associated with the destination, we reveal three of our favourite restaurants in Courchevel.

SARKARA (K2 PALACE) : The Best Tea Time

Besides running the only gourmet dessert restaurant in the world, SébastienVauxion was also the first pastry chef to be awarded two Michelin stars in2020. Having trained alongside Pierre Hermé, Yannick Alléno and PierreGagnaire, the chef takes his guests on a culinary journey with his sensationaland striking creations. “A dessert menu which offers endless opportunitiesfor expression. Playing with textures and combinations of ingredients,Sébastien Vauxion crafts a surprising, disconcerting and sumptuous meal.A unique and incredibly modern experience.” In Courchevel, he elevates theart of desserts to new heights at the K2 Palace, a luxury hotel in Courchevel1850. Enjoy his dishes at the gourmet restaurant Le Sarkara or opt for anincredible tea-time experience in the luxurious bar Le 8611, every day from2pm. Having tried it for ourselves, we can tell you that it’s utterly fantastic. We settled in on a huge, comfortable sofa by the fireplace where we werepresented with our first sweet treats: amazing vanilla-flavoured canneléswith a crisp crust and a melting custard centre, wicked jam-filled doughnutsand freshly baked madeleines. Next, two desserts: one featuring a boldcombination of chocolate and tea, the other focusing on hazelnuts. As forbeverages? A selection of green, black and white teas. Truly exquisite.

LA SOUCOUPE : The best food spot on the slopes

A bustling restaurant. Breathtaking views. A terrace which offers awonderfully relaxing setting between two high-speed descents. Attentive service and a tempting menu. The stage is set. On the menu, you can’t go wrong with the mouth-watering local dish truffle-infused Savoy buckwheat crozets, the legendary pot-au-feu and the delicious char fish, delightfully swimming in a buttery lemon and caper sauce with caramelised endives. And why not try some of the finest cuts of meat from France and around the world, cooked over a wood fire? This slope-side restaurant is a one-of-a-kind!

L’OEIL DE BOEUF : The Best Steakhouse

Without doubt one of our favourite addresses in Courchevel 1550. L'Oeil de Bœuf welcomes you every day, at lunchtime on its sunny terrace or in the evening in its warm and friendly interior, at the foot of the Tovets piste, in its little mountain chalet. Here, you can enjoy exceptional meat (and fish too), perfectly grilled over a wood fire. The gratin dauphinois that accompanies the grilled meats is just as excellent. And if you don't want to be left wanting more, why not try one of the many homemade desserts? The service is as efficient as it is friendly. A full house.

MADAME TRUFFE : The Best Food Truck

Alison has been head-over-heels for truffles for as long as she can remember. This passionate foodie has always been drawn to high- quality and home-made products and so she decided to launch Madame Truffe , the first food truck dedicated to all things truffle. You’ve just got to try the sandwich with Beaufort cheese, homemade pastrami, truffle butter and salad, served between two thick slices of country-style bread.
